Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Program for Children with Special Needs

At Created in His Image (CHI), we believe that every child, regardless of their abilities or challenges, is created with inherent value and purpose. All God’s Children, our program for children with Intellectual, Cognitive, or Developmental Disabilities (CICDD), is a transformative initiative aimed at empowering children with special needs and advocating for a society that embraces diversity and inclusion.

Our program, which began in Lahore, Pakistan, aims to provide these children with access to the best possible resources, specialized care, and therapeutic services. Through this initiative, we strive to create an environment where children with disabilities are not just cared for, but celebrated for their unique gifts and abilities. We are committed to challenging the cultural stigma around disabilities in Pakistan, where many individuals with diverse needs are misunderstood, marginalized, or even rejected by society. In some cases, these children are abandoned, exploited as beggars, or subjected to violence.

But we believe that every child deserves a chance—a chance to learn, to grow, and to contribute to society in their own way. Our vision is to foster a rights-based culture, where children with disabilities are seen as full members of society, deserving of respect, dignity, and opportunity. We aim to create a world where these children can reach their full potential and take their rightful place within their communities.

Mission

Our mission is to equip children with special needs with the resources and therapeutic services they need to thrive. We work closely with families to create the optimal environment for their child’s development, ensuring that each child receives the support necessary to unlock their potential. We are passionate about helping children with intellectual, cognitive, or developmental disabilities become productive, empowered members of society.

Short-Term Goals:

  1. Establishing Networks with Healthcare Providers: Partnering with medical and mental health professionals to provide free or discounted services for children with disabilities.
  2. Raising Awareness and Advocacy: Organizing events and campaigns to advocate for the rights of children with disabilities and raise awareness about their needs.
  3. Building Partnerships: Forming consortiums with organizations and individuals that share the same vision and objectives for inclusivity and empowerment.
  4. Creating a Dedicated Facility: Establishing a center that offers the highest standard of care, education, and therapeutic services to children with disabilities and their families.

Long-Term Goals:

  1. Expanding Services Nationwide: Replicating our facilities and services in other cities across Pakistan, ensuring more children have access to the support they deserve.
  2. Shifting Societal Attitudes: Moving away from a “pity-based” perspective toward a rights-based approach, where children with disabilities are recognized for their capabilities rather than their limitations.
  3. Influencing Policy Change: Working with government and private sectors to implement inclusive policies that support individuals with disabilities in all aspects of life.
  4. Creating Self-Sustainability: Establishing income-generating businesses or trade initiatives to make CHI a self-sustaining organization, ensuring the long-term viability of our programs.
  5. Developing Future Leaders: Preparing and training the next generation of leaders within the disability advocacy and care sector to continue our mission of empowerment and inclusion.

Why Do This?

In Pakistan, children with special needs often face enormous challenges. Society’s stigma leads to their marginalization, and many families lack the resources or knowledge to provide proper care and support. Our program seeks to change the narrative. We aim to empower families, educate communities, and most importantly, save the lives of children who are at risk of being forgotten or harmed. We believe in the infinite worth of every child and are committed to seeing each one fulfills their potential.

Your support can help transform the lives of these children and families. By donating, advocating, or partnering with us, you can make a tangible impact on the future of children with special needs in Pakistan.
